Release 10.1A: OpenEdge Application Server:
Administration
Configuring and Managing the AppServer Internet Adapter
The AppServer Internet Adapter (AIA) Web-enables the AppServer and the OpenEdge Adapter for SonicMQ BrokerConnect (BrokerConnect) by supporting HTTP and HTTPS protocols for sending information across the Internet. In addition, the HTTP and HTTPS protocols provide a way for clients to access an AppServer or a BrokerConnect connection when the client and server are separated by firewalls that limit connections to HTTP and HTTPS. These topics are explained in the following sections:
For more information on the architecture of the AIA and how it supports OpenEdge application services, see OpenEdge Getting Started: Application and Integration Services . For more information on OpenEdge Adapter for SonicMQ architecture, see OpenEdge Getting Started: Application and Integration Services . For information on how to build OpenEdge application services for the Internet and connect to them from 4GL clients, see OpenEdge Application Server: Developing AppServer Applications . For information on how to connect Open Client applications to OpenEdge application services over the Internet, see OpenEdge Development: Open Client Introduction and Programming . You can also use the Progress Knowledge Base on the Web (
